Goodbyes

So, yesterday we had lots of tears. We had to say goodbye to the North West Pacific Team. But first I'll talk about what happened before we said good-bye.

We woke up in the morning to an Oklahome style thunderstorm. It was amazing. Then, Kyle and I went to Rock of Ages to check out a little girl's foot. This girl is a two and half years old and roughly a year or so ago, she had a misplaced Malaria shot. This shot hit a nerve, and because of this, she is paralized in her right foot, and it drags on the ground because she can't pick it up and this causes huge sores on her foot. About a month ago, a team cleaned it, gave her some medication, and some shoes to protect the foot, and it already looks better. We went out there because we needed pictures of the foot to see about getting a brace made to help her pick up the foot. After we took the pictures, we had a slight problem. Because of the rain, we had gotten stuck. Kyle and Peter got out to push while Paul drove us out. After we got back to the compound, we climbed into the car and headed back to town to finish some shopping. After shopping we headed to the airport.

For supper, we stopped and ate at Good African Coffee in Kampala. It was so good. Both Cassie and I had a chocolate milkshake, and we savored every last drop of it. After supper, we were a little pressed for time to get the other team to the airport. Once we got to the airpot, the tears started for both Cassie and I and everyone else.

As Cassie had mentioned earlier, this team came together as a family. Words can't describe how well this team got along and how much we loved each other. It broke our hearts to see them leave. However, I will say this....God did some amazing work through those 7 people, and I know they will be greatly missed and greatly loved.

Here is a picture of the team at the source of the Nile.
