Dani's post about our travels

Monday morning after we left the church and all our loved ones behind, we headed to the city airport. Once we had arived, we began to haul all of our bags inside so we could get them checked. As we were in line getting our tickets we started to realize that the man at the register was not weighing any of the baggage. What a blessing! So our first flight to Minnesota went great. We met lots of people including a really great lady named Amy who was a student in Norman headed to Italy to visit friends and play in a music festival. So our next flight wasn't too bad, just 8 hours to long. We were all fairly close together with Carissa only being two rows behind us. I think what got most of us through the flights were the little TVs and the free food! Once in Amsterdam we had a four hour layover and we finally boarded our last 8 hour flight. Once we got to Uganda, we went to the luggage area to receive our bags and when we picked them all up we realized that none of it had been searched so none of the zip ties had been cut so everything arrived safely. We are so blessed! So once through customs (which was a breeze), we were received by Pam, Paul, Peter and one member of the Dove Voice Band. After packing our bags in a truck, we loaded the taxi and headed out on our two and a half hour drive to Jinja. So total time was 25 and a half hours!
