Challenges.

Yesterday while we were stopped in Bukeeka on our way home, we found out that a man had been sacrificed the night before. There weren't very many adults from Fountain at the tourney. Now we know why. They were at his funeral. It upset a lot of us younger ones on the team. Especially Todd. We just can't wrap our minds around the fact that there really is human sacrifice happening around us. The man was a butcher. We drove past his shop every single day on our way to the school. We marveled at the fact that raw meat was left to just hang out all day long. Next thing we know, he's dead. Sacrificed. It's hard. Todd was ready to just set out on a man hunt for the person who did it. We can't do anything about it though. Witch doctors hold so much power over these people. Nothing we can say to them will change their minds. Fear drives every aspect of their lives. So, I just prayed. For every single man and woman I saw walking home alone last night. Even for the ones I didn't see. That's all that there seems to be left to do. Pray. Pray hard. For miracles, safety, and for God to work through us in ways we can't even see. That is the prayer of everyone on our team right now. And yes, Megan and I consider ourselves a part of this Washington team. In the four days we've been here, we've grown to be like a family. God definitely knew what he was doing.

  2. You find out how sheltered we are, we hear about things like this on the news but when you see the people and hear about things like this it really hits home, i'm sure we seen this man when we worked on the water well if it was where you turned off the main road on the way to the school. You are constantly on my mind and we are praying for you, enjoy what God is and is going to do in your lives while there. Oh by the way has Pam bible whipped you yet? It seems like everytime i have been there she does it to me maybe she just likes me better:)

  3. Now we know why God laid it on Pastor Brad's heart to speak with our Team prior to your departure. He cautioned that you/we would likely be in the presence of this type of satanic activity...and his wise advice to pray is obviously what you did and what we are doing for you. Highs and lows, God brings us up on a Mission Trip, and Satan tries to tear us down. We are praying for you. Love you all. Pat
