Small Village....Big God

After making two trips with the van, Peter got us all delivered to David Waisana's Church in Bugembe.  We had a wonderful time of exciting praise and worship.  The team was called up to the front to introduce themselves and greet the church.  We presented Pastor David with a new Life Application Study Bible and then gathered around him and prayed God's blessings over him as he brings the Word to the people he ministers to.

It was so touching to see how passionate the Ugandan people are about praising God.  So many were crying and whaling and falling down on bended knee.  We didn't get back to the house after church until 2:00 p.m.  and God had not finished His work yet.  We were so blessed to have Peter (our driver) and his wife Assenia and daughter Precious with us for dinner.  After we ate, they shared their story with us.  God's presence was felt so strongly in the room as some confessions were made and forgiveness granted.  After words of encouragement were spoken to the sweet couple, we gathered around, laid hands and prayed for them.

Peter had brought his friend Emma with him to church.  Emma had just received Christ as his Savior two weeks earlier, but was still being tormented by demons when he went to sleep.  We were so blessed to be able to lay hands on him and pray that God would deliver him from the enemy.

Prayer gave way to foot washing!  Several people washed Emma's feet and spoke words of instruction and blessings on him.

God makes all things new and by the time we finished with the foot washing, we decided his path should not be walked in the "OLD" shoes anymore.  A new clean life requires taking off the old and putting on the new.    One of the items we had brought was a tote full of shoes and we had him choose a pair along with a couple of new shirts.  Gary was helping him make sure that the shoes fit his feet properly.

Emma and his friend Peter looking very smart!

Our team prayers are definitely being answered.  We prayed specifically for surprise me God kind of days and to develop new relationships and deepen existing ones.  AND GOD DELIVERED!!!

  2. Wow isn't Davids church awesome. We ended up worshiping there because Deena prayed for rain. The worship experience was overwhelming.
