An on going project of our teams each year has been to make desks for the Fountain of Hope School in Bukeeka. This year is no different! The men on our team was busy the first week and a half building 30 more school desks. It is such a joy to be able to deliver them to the school and hear the excitement of the kids when we come driving up with a truck full. It is always a challenge to figure out how to get them loaded into the truck to make the least amount of trips.
This school, under the direction of Robert Sityo is constantly growing and we were amazed at the growth since we were here last year.
The kids were eager to help unload the desks.
Then they had to be sure to check them out and sit on them to make sure they were alright!
It was competition day, which would be like a track meet in the U.S. Most of the kids were out in the field behind the school complex getting ready to run. We enjoyed watching the events and visiting with the kids.
On your mark, get set, GO!!!! Can you imagine running barefoot on this ground with all the sticks and whatever else is there?
Some of our team members have sponsored children from Fountain of Hope through Grace Giving International. We brought a package for this little girl from her sponsor and she was so excited to go through and find the treasures that were sent. You can tell by the saka (smile) on her face. She is holding the flip flops that were in her package.
You scream, I scream, We all scream for Ice Cream!!!! The kids think the crazy Muzungu's (white people) are funny!
After the festivities we enjoyed Rolexes under the shade tree before going back to Jinja.
