On Friday afternoon, we all went to Naminya to see Abdu's dairy farm. He has 30 dairy cows and utilizes the foilage around his farm to feed his herd. We all walked to Abe's mother's house. If you remember, he used to work for Paul and Pam and was a good friend of Don Neufeld's. He was killed in a shooting a year and a half ago and we visited his grave. Abe has a little boy and it was such a joy to see the baby as well as Abe's mother and sister. Next we went to see the widows, who are a group of born again women who support themselves by baking and renting out wedding dresses. At this time, their oven was not working because it was leaking heat.
Byron and Don went out the following day to repair it.

Once again, God's timing amazes me. You guys were there to help the widows when they needed it most! God is good! Did Abe's mother accept Jesus yet? Paul tried asking her again when our team was there last summer. She still wasn't ready. I pray that she will some day. Thank you for being God's hands and feet once again! Love and blessings, Deb
ReplyDeleteLooks to me like a deacon and elder were enjoying themselves. Sounds like you are having some awesome experiences and seeing God at work. We are praying for you and can't wait to hear the stories when you return. For you first timers, be careful the people of Uganda will capture your heart, I know they did mine.

Everyday I have someone different ask me if I wish I were with you in Uganda, which of course, that is my desire! But what their questions tell me is that there are many people who are supporting you in prayer while you are there and are keeping up to date on how God is using you during your time there. That is so exciting! Many folks from Fairview will never physically get to Uganda, but in their hearts and prayers, they are there with you.
