Rock of Ages Nursery and Primary School

On Friday morning, we all went to Rock of Ages Nursery and Primary School. This is the school that Abdu's wife, Betty, started. At the present time there are 110 students. The oldest grade this year is the second grade, but she has a dream of going to P7 (seventh grade). Sheri got to tell the story of Zacchaeus three different times. She got the experience of having an interpreter which was Abdu.

The elementary students at Fairview sent school supplies to give to the children of Uganda.
This is a picture of the children after they each received a new pencil with a new eraser on top.
They were very excited with the gift. We also gave Betty lots of markers, paper, jump ropes, and other things for the children to use.

We also gave each student a new toothbrush and toothpaste. Sara did a great job of explaining how to properly brush your teeth.

    Sara, you look like you have that teeth brushing demonstration down to an art. Have you considered working for a toothpaste ad :) I loved visiting the nursery school and Bukeeka school. Looks like Don is being Uncle Don there in the background. Glad Sheri had the opportunity to share a Bible story.

    The retired teacher in me smiled really big at the picture of our wonderful story teller Sheri. I'm glad you got to share bible stories in Jinja because you are the ultimate story teller in my eyes! It also makes me proud of the Fairview students who were involved with giving school supplies to the children of Uganda and for them to receive tooth brushes/toothpaste. Isn't it amazing how excited they get when receiving such simple gifts. Wish us Americans could get back to that mentality. We take so much for granted. Keep up the good work and God bless you!
