Day 1--New Team/New School
Hey Everyone...Cassie and I just completed our first full day in Uganda. Today has been full and tiring (jet lag doesn't help). We woke up this morning and finished meeting the rest of the team from Washington. With this team, we went to the Fountain of Hope School where they are planning on doing a big soccer and Uganda version of basketball tourney this coming Saturday and Sunday. They are expecting 1200 students to be at this school, so the next few days will be getting ready for this big event. Of course, with Cassie and I being children lover's, we were excited to be at the school, but were completely unprepared for the mad swarm of children just to touch you. Forget pulling out a camera (they need signs saying BEWARE--We love our pictures taken). We then spent the rest of the afternoon playing games, singing songs, and watching a game of soccer with the kids (trust me things got done for this weekend). In short, it was an amazing first day in Uganda, and we are ready for bed. We'll talk to you later.

So glad to hear you made it safely! Hope you find some time to get the rest you need. Those children will be SO blessed by both of you! Will be anxious to hear about your days and all that God does through you amazing ladies! Praying for you gals! Love, Marshalene
ReplyDeleteWow! God is blessing your socks off already! What did we expect right? I was wondering if we maybe should run a test run on Skype with Megan's family on Thursday or Friday evening for you, which is afternoon for us. You tell me if that could work and I will let them know. Say between 10-11 p.m. your time, which is between 2-3 p.m our time. Then we will be ready to Skype Cassie at the Whiteneck reunion on Sunday!
