Jan 13-14: Linda Klinger and Trisha Byfield
I must apologize once again for the lateness of blogging, we were experiencing some technical difficulties. Tuesday eve we were able to finish packing 21 travel totes with all kinds of things to bless the Ugandans with. We left from our home around 8:30 Wednesday morning, got to the airport with no problems, quickly checked all the totes in, & then waited for our flight. I will let Trisha Byfield update you on the rest of the trip since this was her first plane ride and first trip to Uganda.

Okay world, Flying is NOT for the faint of heart, LOL. The first flight, I was sure I was going to die, but I didn't. Then the second flight was not so bad, I didn't get sick, I didn't freak, and I didn't cry. All was good, Changing planes was quite an ordeal, I'm so very glad to have an experienced group to talk me through it. We made it to the last flight, I met some wonderful, interesting people along the way.
God has a way of putting the pieces together, from the little girl with no English, to the baby who wouldn't go to sleep, Thank you Jesus!!!!! We got here with no problems, and....I'M STILL ALIVE!!!!! (smiley face). We got loaded up and were taken to Sunset Hotel in Entebbe for a good nights rest.

Jan. 15- Our team was picked up from the hotel and we made our way to Jinja. On the way, we stopped for a nice lunch at Java Café, stopped at a roadside fruit stand, and enjoyed a nice rainstorm.
Upon arriving to Paul and Pam's, we unloaded the two vans of totes and bags and proceeded to get organized for our first clinic. Uganda Team Hope get ready, get set, GO!

Jan. 16-Barbara Eck
Our first clinic was at Lwanika (where the dogs turn around). We went to the village and the orange canvas was on the ground and over us. As the village began to gather for us and we set up, we explained to the two new team members how this experience would happen. Well God also has plans and we learned to listen to those plans. Dr. Ron and Barbara were together with translators Frank and Pastor Jimmy to help us talk with the patients. Dr.Don and Byron had Sarah and Vickie as translators. Desiree walked about in the crowd to find the sickest babies and patients. Don N. and Linda were the medication dispensers. Debbie was team photographer while also helping to fit reading glasses, while Tricia floated, assisting wherever needed and playing with the children. (ask her about the scary puppet routine).
The Pastor and his wife helped us with the patients that needed extra help. One man got glasses and was reading the Bible to other people in the gathering. One child had a serious dental issue and needs oral surgery. We found one very seriously ill baby that we transported to Al Sharpton hospital with his Mother. One lady had a very serious hand cellulitis that will be taken to the hospital on Wednesday. One child had headaches that the nationals said was caused by demons and we prayed over him. We prayed with one man for his salvation. He had come with his child and was asked if he had any needs that we could help him with and he wanted help with stopping smoking that lead to his salvation. Trisha shared her story with this gentleman in hopes of helping him understand that with God all things are possible and He can perform miracles for him as well. The team left beans and rice for the village as well.

Jan. 17-Debbie Whiteneck and Barbara Eck
Our team decided the night before to attend Paul and Pam's church, Worship Harvest. We decided to sleep in a bit after our first clinic and attend the late service. Again, our plans are not His plans. Paul, Dr. Klinger, and Byron had gone to check on the baby and his mother that they had transported to the hospital the day before. While everyone was starting to get ready for church, Dr. K and Byron returned and called a team meeting. Dr. K explained that the baby, Robert, had passed away. We were told that Paul and Ezra would be bringing the Momma, Vicky, back to the house for our team to pray and love on her. Little did we know that we would be part of the funeral process of giving a blanket to wrap the child in so they could take him back to their village and have a funeral. It was a beautiful, heart wrenching, compassion and love filled morning that God showed His strength, power and love towards this sweet Momma and her family. To God give all the glory!!
Barbara-We went to church near by and the Praise and Worship Team and Pastor Mike lifted and encouraged our hearts. We returned to the compound for lunch, rest, repack and prepare for the next day. Papa/Pastor Paul lead us in a debriefing Sunday night. WE are at peace with God's leading and guiding us through the next day.





















Jan 18 Linda Klinger
Monday morning was spent with Robert and Sarah Sitiyo's (Fountain of Hope Schools founders)triplets. At 7 weeks old all 3 seem to be doing very well. Lots of picture taking, holding & loving on precious babies. After lunch we were again blessed to see David Waisana's twin grandsons; proud parents are Rogers and his wife Deborah. At 2 weeks old they are also healthy & well. So more picture taking, holding & loving on them. The Docs noticed a possible problem with the babies fingers and recommended that they be taken to a specialist in Kampala for further evaluation. For the evening, we had Peter and Asiinah Bukenya and their 3 beautiful children Precious, Simon, Faith as our guests. Peter told a little of his story before meeting Asiinah and then he told how he courted Asiinah and won over her family as well. It was a pleasure having them as our guests!!
